A Gala Dinner Celebration in the Presence of the Queen

The professional Spa and Beauty industry had good reason to celebrate on Sunday 15th June when Salon and Spa finalists from across the nation came together to celebrate their achievements at the 13"' National Awards of Excellence 2008 on the Gold Coast

The Gala Dinner event was held at the Crowne Plaza Resort in Surfers Paradise and was hosted by The Association of Professional Aestheticians of Australia (APAA) and sponsored by the CPL Group and global owners of Indio Cosmeceuticals.

On arrival guests were greeted by the mystical sounds of ancient Egyptian music, as the theme for tie night was Nefertiti, Queen of Beauty. A huge backdrop of the pyramid; and images of ancient Egypt transported guests to another era and another time. A statuesque image of an Egyptian queen adorned each table while organic soy candles gently flickered releasing their refreshing in exotic aroma of honeysuckle.

WHY QUEEN NEFERTITI?

As the logo of the APAA Queen Nefertiti has been the emblem of the Association of Professional Aestheticians of Australia for over 50 years. However, in recent years the consideration as to whether a more modern symbol should be introduced was reviewed.
