PROTECT YOURSELF AGAINST CANCELLATIONS
Did you know that if you added the cancellations and no-shows that happen in your business you would find that they would amount annually to serious financial losses? Our own research also confirms this and so we developed a tool to help our members minimise this problem.
The APAA CANCELLATION POLICY was developed as a warning to clients and aims to deter the frequency of inconsiderate cancellations and no-shows, in a non-threatening way. As they say, if you do not tell them how are they to know? The purpose of the Cancellation Policy is also taking the pressure off you having to confront your client on this matter. They are designed as a standard photo-frame size (approximately A4) and are available for sale already laminated. We recommend that you place them in a perspex frame in a prominent position on your front desk.
To complement the CANCELLATION POLICY we have also developed APPOINTMENT PADS (50 per pad) that present the DATE of appointment, TIME of appointment and NAME OF TREATMENT followed by the CANCELLATION POLICY. At the bottom of the pad we have left space for you to include your salon details or your stamp.

Are you complying with the Privacy Act?
Did you know that any organisation, whatever its size, which provides a "health service" will also be subject to the Privacy Act? It is the definition of "health service" in the Act that may bring many of the members’ small businesses within the ambit of the legislation. Basically, "health service" is defined as an activity performed in relation to an individual that is intended or claimed.
It was identified by our legal advisers that though the definition clearly brings within the ambit of the legislation the medical profession it could also, in certain circumstances, bring APAA members within the ambit of the Act. Further, some members may have entered into agreements that contractually compelled them to comply with the provisions of the Act, whether or not the Act would otherwise apply to them.
For these reasons, members should consider a review of their handling of personal information to ensure that, if necessary, they comply with the Privacy Act. In the time since the Privacy Act commenced, big business has grappled with a number of difficulties in complying with
