Let’s please all thank congratulate Pam on venturing forth in a new area for the APAA as its MC for the night !! Let’s all welcome a new addition to the APAA family...my wonderful Assistant and Office Manager Fiona MacTaggert.....who has come on board the APAA and is making my life incredibly easier with her expertise in all facets of the APAA business. I don’t know what I would have done without her tremendous assistance in organising this event with me. You will get to know Fiona better during the course of the year as she will be the number one point of contact for you when you call the APAA Office.
So please feel free to call her and ask for any advice relating to the Beauty Industry.
Tonight we are celebrating: the setting of high expectations and striving for excellence even though Life is a challenge for most of us right now...
Setting high expectations and striving for excellence are fundamental keys to success Growth .. We need to set the highest expectations for ourselves in everything we do. There is nothing we can undertake that we should not have these two ideals in mind.
The truth is our lives are not just a reflection of what happens to us. They are a reflection of what we make happen. We need to set for ourselves high expectations and to strive for excellence in everything that we do..
We are intelligent people...dont kid ourselves that we are anything else. If we get caught in a rainstorm and have a raincoat in our hand, do we put it on or do we stand on it?? We possess initiative, intelligence and integrity. We possess everything we need in order to turn ourlives into a successful adventure with the main beneficiary being us.
We know the world is bigger and stretches further than we can see. It is more colourful, more challenging , more beautiful and more rewarding. So too are our lives. Lets start to live our lives in that world. Begin to inhabit the place where possibilities are endless and opportunities are hung out for us to grab hold of. Let’s use the initiative that we are born with, not just to cover up for the rain but to go beyond the call of duty.
There will be times when we don’t reach our full potential but we will know that we have not met our own expectations. That is half the battle because we know that we will have to dust ourselves down and try again.
Success then should be a natural outcome of your new self. The thing that will distinguish you from the rest from now on will be the drive, determination and excellence. Believe in yourself and what you want to achieve. Get to know others who are achievers. Learn how they go about things and imitate their approach. Set the bar a little higher, push yourself a little further.
The principle is the same for making an excellent button as it is for a communications satellite, Never let second best be good enough. Believe in yourself what you want to achieve. Make sure the person who leaves here and postpones starting tomorrow is not you. You deserve more ....so never settle for anything less.
Ladies & Gentlemen I wish to take this wonderful opportunity to congratulate all the entrants in the various categories in the APAA National Awards of Excellence –you are all winners in our eyes even though some of you may not win an award tonight. The mere challenge of entering an award in excellence already speaks volumes about your philosophy. You all have our deserved best wishes tonight. Let’s enjoy a great evening and celebrate all our achievers in the best way we know tonight.
Best wishes
Anne-Marie Marynycz,
APAA National President
